Nightlife in Ibiza

Ibiza is one the large islands located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Spain. The large island is made up of three cities: Ibiza town, Sant Antoni and Sanata Eularia des Riu. The island has a great deal of Spanish influence and for the major part of the last 5 decades was only visited by the locals from Spain and some Europeans. However, in the past thirty years, Ibiza has become a renowned tourist center.

Surrounded by sea and with a magnificent warm climate all year around, it has become a tourist haven for both Europeans and North Americans. For the major part of the 80s and 90s, it was more famous for its wild parties which went on all night.

The island has lots more to offer than all night parties. Large parts of the island are registered as UN World heritage sites and protected from urbanization. The island has always maintained its natural rugged beauty and a number of movies have been made on Ibiza.

For the tourist who wants to have a great time, the best time to come is spring and summer. The excellent weather allows for outdoor activities. Even today, Ibiza is more famous for its all night parties despite administrative clamp down. Authorities have been trying to erase the "sexy” image and bring in all types of tourists, but for the most part, Ibiza is a haven for the younger crowd who want to party.

If you are going to Ibiza for a party then there are a number of night clubs which are worth your while. The most famous is the Privilege Ibiza hailed as the world’s largest night club. This grand club made from an aircraft hangar with a high ceiling can house close to 10,000 people. In the center is also a large swimming pool. Most of the bands at Privilege play all night, alcohol flows like water and generally people go wild.

The Es Paradis (It is Paradise) is also quite famous for its water parties. It is located in a pyramid shaped building with a sliding roof. The one thing about this place is that once the party has started half the customers do not have clothes and the other half are naked. The parties here are often raunchy and loud.

Amnesia is another night club in Ibiza. The music scene here is loud and it has a glamorous dancing floor. Besides the bright lights and funky music, the place also has some great looking go go dancers who are just as wild as the customers.

Space is also a well known party destination in Ibiza. Many world class DJs play here and almost always the parties go on till early mornings. Space did develop a reputation for having the wildest parties in Ibiza. This has been toned down by the local authorities.

Pacha is a franchise night club also operating out of Ibiza. It is one of the few night clubs that operates during the winter. Not only do the famous DJs play here, but the place has great entertainment and the best acoustics.

While there are many clubs in Ibiza, no matter where you go the party scene is wild, loud, sexy and lively. The majority of the clubs are open till early morning and offer all types of music and alcohol. Just a word of warning, Ibiza night life is not for the faint of heart, come here to have a blast and not worry about anything.
